Tell John Boehner that Americans don't want government making medical decisions for them.

The next Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep John Boehner (R-OH), is not well known to most Americans.
When Boehner speaks to national audiences, he talks mostly about his support for "small government." But what few people are aware of are his extreme views on how government should invade the personal lives of women and their families.
One of Boehner's top priorities is to roll back the new health care reform bill - the same bill that promises major improvements in women's access to birth control and prenatal care services. But less reported on is his plan to ban coverage of abortion in the new health care system altogether - and tax Americans with private insurance plans that include abortion coverage.
Abortion is controversial, but it is currently a legal medical procedure. Politicians shouldn't be making medical decisions on behalf of American women, and John Boehner needs to know that now that he's about to become the most powerful person in the House of Representatives, we're watching his every move.
Boehner won't stop at blocking coverage of abortion in health care plans. He also wants to revive failed, Bush-era "abstinence-only" programs that censored discussion of birth control and cut funding for family-planning programs that provide women access to basic health care, such as birth control and cancer screenings.
The truth is Boehner and his followers are out of touch with what most Americans believe about choice.
People can have different views on abortion, but when it comes down to it, we don't elect politicians so that they will make our medical decisions for us.
Thanks for taking action,
